2nd grade and I have been learning all about the digestive process, including how different parts of our mouths help break down the food we eat. We talked about our tongues and noses helping our tasting senses, and then read an article about our teeth. In this article we learned that a hard boiled egg shell, is made up of similar characteristics to our teeth. To test how strong our teeth are against common liquids that we drink, students brought in three of their favorite sodas. Fanta Uva, Coca Cola, Sprite, and Water. We put a hard boiled egg into each glass of liquid, and left them their over the break. When we returned, we saw some pretty astonishing results!
Being Scientists for the day, writing down observations after taking the cracked, colored, wrecked eggs out of their liquids.
