recreated his "tear art" polar bear.
Students dressed up in their best jungle gear today! We read non-fiction books about the jungle, played a fun jungle charades game, and created a puppet show!
Farm Day in Kinder was such a blast. The kids looked so adorable in their cowboy getup. Mrs. Owen brought her horse in at the end of the day for students to learn about, ask questions, and even feed.
We drew under water scenes with crayons, then colored over them with water color. The end result was beautiful!
To close our nutrition unit, we made fruit pattern kebabs! We practiced knife skillsMade and ate KebabsTried Green juice! (they loved it!)Today we just did not feel like working in our Math books. Sometimes that happens, so we think of a new way to learn math for the day. Students got in small groups and created number posters to present to the class-after being given a secret number. For example, I gave a group the secret number, 23. They wrote a number line from 1-30 and circled the number 23. Then drew 23 things in small groups, to show understanding.
Well, after 3 weeks off I expected our little kinders to have tons of cobb webs in their little minds. Boy was I wrong! Thank you parents, you must have kept up the hard work over break, because they all came back as sharp as ever! We finished up our nutrition unit this week, began our new letter, 'O' and practiced our writing steps.
Here are some students doing "Write the Room". Students get a white board and marker, and walk around the room finding new words to say aloud and practice writing. They may also turn these words into sentences and share with each other. |
