Our first week was a great indication of what this year has in store for us all. The Kinders transitioned into my classroom with ease, and took to reading, writing, journaling and graphing right away.
A little about me... I am a 20 something women who loves to teach. I began my love of teaching when I was a young dancer, given to opportunity to be an assistant in my favorite teachers ballet class. From there I was given my very own three dance class to teach, and my life of teaching hasn't stopped. I went to Sonoma State to get my B.A. in Liberal Arts and my California State teaching credential. I was in Gamma Phi Beta sorority, student taught in Kindergarten and 3rd grade classrooms, was a nanny for an amazing family I have know my entire life, and enjoyed the finest Napa wines as often as possible. From there I moved to Belo Horizonte, Brazil where I taught 2nd grade at an international American IB school. I traveled throughout South America, spent a summer in Europe, and tried to immerse myself in the Brazilian culture as much as possible. After my 2 years abroad, I came back to my roots in Carmel, California. I began teaching at my old studio again where I teach ballet, tap, jazz, and creative arts and singing. I got hired at the most incredible little school where I currently teach Kindergarten. I am also back in school at Brandman University studying for my Masters in Education. I love to be creative, bake up a storm, travel as much as possible, ski when I can, dance in my room, sing in my car, and teach my little kinders who light up my life. |
