While studying different communities and structures, we came across a book on how skyscrapers are made, which made my Kinder class interested in how they would design a skyscraper if they were architects or engineers. Each team had a different approach and they worked together to make a sturdy and tall popsicle stick skyscraper!

We are all loving our new OSMO - which is an ipad connector with differentiated math skills,
word recognition and much more! Mrs. Atkins arranged for an ambulance and paramedics to come out to our school to talk about how they help the community. Students were able to ask questions, climb onboard the ambulance, and use some of the equipment paramedics use! Students created their own paper animal habitats and used animal cards to place them in the correct homes, after lots of research and collaboration.
Our 100th Day of School was such a blast! Students learned so much through 10 different math centers, and their 7th grade buddies helped and had fun too!
